Intro: Everyone in this industry is trying to do it all...trying to be an expert at everything and that is why you see shops selling everything from front ends, suspension, turbos, and then claiming to be expert engine builders all at the same time. I don't feel that one person can know everything about everything no matter how brilliant, so we have stuck to what we know...Cylinder Heads. My dad told me to pick one thing you are good at, and do it better than anyone else. We eat, sleep, and breathe Cylinder Heads and day after day continue to push for new developments. There is no rest for the wicked.

Background: 4 Piston Racing started as a sport compact drag racing team from Indianapolis, Indiana. The team is owned and operated by Josh Klein and Luke Wilson.

Like most teams in the sport compact industry, ours was born in the garage at home more than 17 years ago. Growing up in Indy only blocks from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indianapolis Raceway Park didn't leave us many choices for something to be passionate about. Tuesday nights were spent at Indianapolis Raceway Park on the drag strip, Thursday Night Thunder was sprint car night, and of course we were tortured as we sat in our grade school classrooms listening to the Indy Cars circle IMS for the entire month of May. It wasn't until we were a bit older that we discovered the Mac Tools US Nationals...but we have been hooked on drag racing ever since.

From day one, our interest has been in the all motor categories. Being engine lovers, it was only natural to gravitate toward the power efficient Honda engines. After years of racing locally, our focus turned in 2004 to the professional ranks. In five weeks we prepared a car for the NDRA Pro Stock and NHRA All Motor categories. After six races with our 123 cubic inch B Series, we realized the potential of the new Honda K Series engine and purchased a Honda Insight as our chassis for the new motor program. Years of development has led to what is now a 400hp 9 second naturally aspirated car.

4 Piston Racing has grown tremendously through 2011 and we have been focusing more and more on our craft of cylinder head development and less on our racing program. We look forward to participating in many other people's racing programs all over the world for 2011.
